Marin Professionals is a peer support and networking organization for job seekers who are 40+ years old with college degrees and at least 10 years experience in professional, managerial or high-tech careers.  We share our experience, expertise and resources with each other, and provide mutual support and encouragement in the search for success. 

There are no dues or financial obligations, but we are expected to contribute a small portion of our time to the organization. Volunteers find that the hours they donate pay off in peer support and  networking opportunities with others from diverse fields.

After going through our five-day workshop, one of our members told a newspaper reporter, that if she could have found the same training at a private job placement company, it would have cost at least several hundred dollars. But for Marin Professionals members, it's free, as are all our services. 

Members who have completed the workshop are encouraged to become workshop facilitators. They pass on skills and information within a well-organized program format that provides members with confidence and a strong job-search focus. 

The workshop assists people with such things as: 

• Developing a job search strategy. 
• Identifying skills and clarifying goals. 
• Tailoring resumes and cover letters to fit job openings. 
• Learning and practicing new interviewing skills. 

After the five-day workshop, members can continue to use the facilities and the networking and job search benefits of member contact. They remain members by contributing to the organization in one of several ways. They maintain our library, teach workshops, schedule outside speakers for general meetings. 

Some members contribute by updating this Web site or creating a newsletter, thus getting valuable experience by learning new skills or brushing up on old ones. 

Professionals with high-tech experience help members with the organization's computers. The equipment is available for members to print resumes and search the Internet for job leads. Notices of job openings also come in daily to Marin Professionals from businesses and nonprofit organizations in the county and throughout the Bay Area.
