History and Governance

Marin Professionals was initially established as a Chapter of the state's Experience Unlimited program in 1992, headquartered at the Employment Development Department of Marin County.

The state cut our funding in January 2014 and we moved from the EDD offices to the Renaissance Center in San Rafael and a very dedicated group of members kept Marin Professionals in place and began operating there as an all-volunteer non-profit organization.

In January 2015 we established our non-profit 501C3 status with MarinLink as our Fiscal Sponsor and have been located since that time in their office on the mezzanine level of Northgate Mall above the Food Court and meet regularly in the Community Room on that level.

The Marin Professionals Coordinating Team is comprised of a group of volunteer members who work as a team to manage our program and to produce and deliver our Five Day Job Search workshop which is currently offered on a quarterly basis during the year.

Graduates from each workshop become a “Success Team” and continue to work together and support the Job search process.

We also provide Specialized Workshops from time to time based on need of our Members.

You become a Member by completing the Five Day Workshop and we hold a regular weekly Monday morning meeting (except for holidays).
